NOTICE: BGD is getting ready to migrate away from Blogger and expand and update greatly. Stay tuned in via twitter (@blackgirldating) and on Cheers! 10.29.17

Howdy! Peace and Blessings, All. I’m Aya.  I’m young, single, Black, and I live in the southern part of the United States.

There’s nothing particularly special about that until you consider the fact that there are a whole lot of us who fit this description.  You may have heard the some of the media buzz surrounding the subject of the inordinate amount of single Black women as compared to women of other races in the same age range.  The reasons for this are as numerous as they are complex – and SO not the theme of this blog.  Though they should be acknowledged, this blog is about confronting and overcoming those issues rather simply reaffirming and griping about them.  No man or woman-bashing will occur. I’m definitely going to find my someone, my soulmate.  This blog is a chronicle of that journey and a means of sharing the power of overcoming barriers to healthy, productive, and long-lasting relationships with other people.  I feel that companionship can indeed be found for anyone who seeks it, and seek it I shall.

I’m open to questions.  I’m a pretty forthcoming person, but there is a chance that you might not get the response you intended upon.  Enjoy, Share Your Thoughts, Follow Me, and Tell a Friend!
